So, this is the new year?

Happy new year darlings!

I'm not going to lie because  one, i hate liars and two, i'm not one of them. My first 48 minutes of new year were utter rubbish and I ended up being locked in my toilet crying for fifteen minutes. To make regain my sanity I decided to write to you guys and to be honest just typing this post is making me feel a hell of a lot better.

I'm sure everyone has there own resolutions or in the case of those grumpy old pessimists out there, none. BUT, I'm a happy little lass and therefore I thought I would bore you all with my personal new year resolutions...

I'd also just like to say that to anyone who is having a crap 2013, depsite it being only just over an hour into it, I can't say 'it gets better' because what the hell do I know? I don't want to promise you all that everything negative in your life will magically banish but if you stay you, stay true to yourself, don't let anyone get you down and make the best out of a bad situation, then my friend, you should be just fine. Don't ever think that you're nothing because everybody is something. Don't live up to anybodies expectations other than your own. I LOVE YOU, haha.

Okay dokay darlings, i hope everyone has a fantastic 2013 and best wishes to you all!

The Liebster Awards!

Hello cutie pies!

How have we all been? Are you excited for Christmas, which is tomorrow! Oh my gosh how time flew since last year!

Uhum, back to the post, haha. I was tagged by my lovely first follower Sajal . The Liebster Awards are a great way for new and up and coming bloggers with few followers to meet new people and potentially gain more followers so I was very happy to be tagged!

The rules are you have to write 11 random facts about yourself, then answer 11 questions from the person who tagged you along with nominating 11 other bloggers who have to answer 11 questions that you give them. Wow, they like the number 11 don't they?!

11 random facts about me...

Well, me and my mum have decided that next summer we're going to do heaps of charity work from helping the homeless to doing sponsored runs but seeing as that's next year I suppose I've not really made any. Style Envy ~ Perrie Edwards

Most of you will know Perrie Edwards from Little Mix and I thought I'd do a short post on her since I'm a huge fan of her style. I just love the way she doesn't dress provocative all the time like a lot of young female artists do nowadays. She looks so effortless is everything she wears and I wish I could pull of her outfits! I like the way she has a twist on every outfit, it's unique and different but in a way that everyone wants what she wears. There's just something about the way she dresses that I love! She constantly gives me inspiration for new outfits which means I'm the internet all the time looking for similar pieces haha.
                                       ☃
What do you think of her style?

Ho Ho Ho, Merry Shoemas!

I'd just like to apologise for the poor quality photos I've taken - unlike a lot of people on blogger I don't have a 50cm lens or a £400 camera! - plus I don't have a good spot anywhere in my house to take blogger worthy photos :(

Anyway moving on, when it turned December me and my mum went Christmas shopping to find presents for everyone....only it turned out we found no suitable gifts and we bought ourselves presents instead haha. I found these shoes in Primark and when I saw the price tag I had to have them! They were...*drum roll*...£7!

I mean £7! C'mon what a bargain! I was shocked and they were the last pair in my size so it must have been a sign from heaven to get them, right? I've had countless compliments when wearing them and so many people didn't believe me when I said I bought them from Primark. I think they look a lot more expensive, definitely not a single digit price! I've had them almost a month and they still look brand new. The material is suede-like and as you can see in the first photo living with a curly white poodle isn't the best, especially when you find your dog cuddled up to them one night...

The heels measures 5.5 inches which is good for me since I'm really small. They look great with jeans for a casual dinner out and  for a more formal occasion I wear them with my black velvet skater skirt which I love! It's so comfortable and so easy to pair with tops and shoes e.c.t. I bought the skirt from River Island and it was £20 which was another bargain in my books!

P.s ~ yes I am stood on my dining room chair, I'm too short for the mirror...

Merry Christmas everyone too, only 4 days to go!

What's your skin type?

When I was younger, around thirteen or so, I used to rush around Boots and Superdrug and throw make-up into my basket like there was no tomorrow! I never bothered to look at the brand or whether or not if was right for my skin, my friends used it so I assumed it would be okay...most of the time it wasn't.

After trying countless foundations and having countless face disasters I took to the internet on how to find that perfect foundation. I came across a website explaining all the different skin types and how to know which one you had. After I found out mine I managed to find several foundations perfect for me and after teaching my friend a few tricks she too has her perfect foundation. So, I thought I might be able to help those who are find their skin type and some tips on make-up for your skin as well.

Oily Skin

Oily skin tends to have enlarged pores, a shiny complexion and the skin is prone to blackheads, white heads and blemishes. The most oily part of the face tends to be the t-zone (nose, forehead and chin) The amount of oil on the skin changes depending on the weather and the season. It is important that you have a daily face routine to make sure the oil build up doesn't get too severe otherwise you are likely to become vulnerable to acne. Wash your face once or twice a day. Use a gentle cleanser and try to avoid a facial scrub. DO NOT squeeze or pick your spots because this only prolongs the time it takes them to heal and go away.

Prep your face before applying make-up. Try a toner or an oil free moisturiser, these will absorb and soak up any extra oil on your face. Use a blemish brush or your finger to blend concealer on your nose and on any blemishes you want to hide. Use a matte foundation, it controls oil throughout the day and gives good coverage. If you get some oil on your face in the middle of the day then lightly dust your t-zone with some powder.

Dry Skin

If you have dry skin then it will usually feel tight, especially after you wash it. It can have red patches, flaking skin and irritated areas. Your skin doesn't produce enough oil so moisturising your face is critical. Creamy foundations work best for dry skin as you can probably guess, it adds extra moisture your face and makes it less prone to flaking and irritation throughout the day. A light shower of powder will lock the moisture onto your face for a good long coverage. It is also recommended that liquid eye liner is used because pencil eye liners can easily flake. Oh and just a quick tip, if you take really long, scorching hot showers then it will strip your skin and make it ten times worse...just a heads up.

Combination Skin

Combination skin is basically what it says on the tin! It's a mix of dry and oily skin. Your skin should have a smooth and even texture as well as a healthy colour. It usually has dryness on the cheeks and can have enlarged pores whilst your t-zone is oily. The difficult thing with finding make-up for combination skin is there is no cure-all product as it's a mix of two different types. If you have an oily t-zone then avoid moisturiser on this area and focus it on the cheeks. Avoid aggressive facial cleansers as these will over stimulate the oil in your skin and produce more and more. A creamy and mild face wash is much more effective. If you choose light, non-greasy cream products these won't feel heavy and will absorb the oil on your skin without clogging any pores you may have.
Check for ingredients like Lavender and Lemon because it's proven that these balance out the sebaceous (natural oil production within your skin) as well as dehydration.

I hope this has been helpful to people!
Hope you've been having a good week and merry christmas!

Baby, all I want for Christmas...

winter wishlist

1.Missguided spike necklace 2.Topshop fluffy crop top 3.Topshop Nails in parma violet
4.Topshop lips in Rio Rio 5.Fashion Union champagne diamond heels 6.Asos tassle bowler bag

Hello everybody, this is my very first post as a blogger and I'm very excited to get started. Admittedly, this isn't an amazingly exciting post although I'm desperately trying to wait until Christmas to write my first beauty post as I've asked for tonnes of make-up! So, I hope this post suffices for my first one...

Here are a few things I've been drooling over this December. I'm just going to give you a little heads up, I am obsessed with lipstick and I'm in the middle of making a little collection of them, haha. I love red lipstick, I think it just makes a statement and is great for nights out and days in. I've also never really worn 'crop tops' but I kind of had my eye of this over the months and then I saw a picture of Ellie Goulding wearing it (I LOVE her style) and I thought, if it's good enough for Ellie Goulding it's good enough for me!

Hmm, yes I've suddenly become obsessed with Topshops make-up brand and will definitely review some of the items soon, so look out.The pink rabbit bag is from Asos and at £35 I think it's relatively cheap and looks a lot more expensive, I'm a sucker for pink...and rabbits.

I love high heels since I'm small at 5ft 2 so being tall once in a while feels good! I love painting my nails, I have a new colour every week and when I paid a visit to Topshop earlier this week I spotted this gorgeous parma violet coloured nail varnish and I'm planning on buying it with my Christmas money. Finally, the spike necklace from missguided. I've been searching for a chunky necklace to complete an outfit stored away in my wardrobe for christmas day and this is literally perfection!
Well, well, that's it from me today folks and hope this was some-what interesting for you!

Let me know what you think & since I'm new feel free to leave your blog url
